Home Décor Trends to Watch in 2027
A new year brings new ideas, new aesthetics, and new ways to think about the spaces we live in. Whether you're planning a full home refresh or just looking to update a few key pieces, here are the home décor trends set to define 2027 — and how to bring them to life with pieces from Emerson's On Main.
1. Sculptural Ceramics
Ceramics are having a major moment — and in 2027, the focus is on bold, sculptural forms rather than purely functional pieces. Think vases with strong geometric shapes, unusual proportions, and rich, earthy glazes. Our Rayas Ceramic Vase 38cm in Denim (AUD $199.00) is a perfect example — a striking, sculptural piece that commands attention in any room.
2. Warm, Earthy Colour Palettes
Cool greys and stark whites are giving way to warmer, earthier tones in 2027. Terracotta, denim, burgundy, warm sand, and deep forest green are all having their moment. These colours feel grounded, cosy, and deeply liveable — perfect for Australian homes that want to feel warm and welcoming year-round.
Our Rayas Ceramic Vase 30cm in Dark Denim (AUD $179.00) and Rayas Ceramic Vase 20.5cm in Steel (AUD $149.00) both sit beautifully within this palette — rich, considered, and effortlessly on-trend.
3. Layered Textures
2027 is all about layering — combining different materials, textures, and finishes to create spaces that feel rich and multi-dimensional. Mix smooth ceramics with rough linen, warm wood with cool metal, and matte finishes with subtle sheen. The result is a home that feels curated and deeply personal rather than showroom-perfect.
4. Statement Wall Art & Signage
Walls are getting bolder in 2027. Statement art, typographic prints, and decorative metal signs are replacing the minimalist blank-wall aesthetic. Our Christmas Eve Metal Sign (AUD $39.95) is a great example of how a single wall piece can anchor an entire room's aesthetic — rustic, characterful, and full of personality.
5. Intentional, Curated Collections
The maximalist “more is more” approach is being replaced by something more considered — a smaller number of truly loved objects, displayed with intention and care. In 2027, it's not about how much you have, but how thoughtfully you've chosen and arranged what you do have.
A single beautiful ceramic vase, a well-chosen candle, and one striking wall piece can do more for a room than a shelf full of random objects. Shop with intention, choose quality over quantity, and your home will feel genuinely elevated.
